At 12:51pm, the Senate recessed until 2:15pm to allow for the weekly party caucus lunches.

By a vote of 48-49, the Senate did not agree to Lee amendment #6482 to H.R.8404, Respect for Marriage Act. (60-vote affirmative threshold)

Not adopted, 45-52: Lankford amendment #6496, in relation to Cal. #449, H.R.8404, Respect for Marriage Act.

Not adopted, 45-52: Adoption of Rubio amendment #6493, in relation to Cal. #449, H.R.8404, Respect for Marriage Act.

The Baldwin substitute amendment #6487 was agreed to by unanimous consent.

By a vote of 61-36, the Senate passed Cal. #449, H.R.8404, Respect for Marriage Act, as amended.

The Senate stands in recess until 10:00am Wednesday, November 30, 2022.

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session to resume consideration of Executive Calendar #1133 Camille L. Velez-Rive, of Puerto Rico, to be United States District Judge for the District of Puerto Rico, vice Francisco Augusto Besosa, retired.

At 11:30am, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the nominations of Velez-Rive and Executive Calendar #1147 Anne M. Nardacci, of New York, to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of New York, vice Gary L. Sharpe, retired.

If cloture is invoked, the confirmation votes will occur at 2:15pm.

The Senate will convene at 10:00am on Thursday, April 30th. Following Leader Remarks, the Senate will be in a period of Morning Business with Senators permitted to speak therein for up to ten minutes each.

At approximately 11:30am, the Senate is expected to vote on the motion to invoke cloture on S.Res.690, an executive resolution authorizing the en bloc consideration in Executive Session of (49) certain nominations on the Executive Calendar.  If cloture is invoked on S.Res.690, all post-cloture time will be considered expired and the Senate will vote on adoption of the resolution at a time to be determined by the Majority Leader, in consultation with the Democratic Leader, no earlier than Friday, May 1st.

At approximately 1:45pm, a roll call vote on the motion to discharge S.J.Res 184, A joint resolution to direct the removal of United States Armed Forces from hostilities within or against the Islamic Republic of Iran that have not been authorized by Congress from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee (Schiff) is expected.
