The Senate confirmed by voice vote Executive Calendar #993 Rheanne Wirkkala to be an Assistant Secretary of Defense.

By unanimous consent, the Senate passed S.1725, a bill to grant a Federal charter to the National American Indian Veterans, Incorporated, and S.7, a technical correction to the Violence Against Women Act.

The Senate will convene for pro forma sessions on the following dates at times:

Tuesday, November 22 at 5:30pm.

Friday, November 25 at 8:00am.

The Senate will next convene at 3:00pm on Monday, November 28. At 5:30pm, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Baldwin amendment #6487 (substitute) to the underlying bill, HR 8404, Respect for Marriage Act.

By a vote of 53-23, the Senate agreed to the motion to proceed to Cal. #449, H.R.8404, Respect for Marriage Act.

Leader Schumer filed cloture on both the Baldwin amendment #6487 (substitute) and the underlying bill, HR 8404, Respect for Marriage Act, and filled the amendment tree. The vote on cloture on the Baldwin substitute amendment will occur at 5:30pm on Monday, November 28.

Leader Schumer filed cloture on Executive Calendar #1133 Camille L. Velez-Rive to be United States District Judge for the District of Puerto Rico.

Leader Schumer filed cloture on Executive Calendar #1147 Anne M. Nardacci to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of New York.

The Senate will convene at 10:00am on Thursday, April 30th. Following Leader Remarks, the Senate will be in a period of Morning Business with Senators permitted to speak therein for up to ten minutes each.

At approximately 11:30am, the Senate is expected to vote on the motion to invoke cloture on S.Res.690, an executive resolution authorizing the en bloc consideration in Executive Session of (49) certain nominations on the Executive Calendar.  If cloture is invoked on S.Res.690, all post-cloture time will be considered expired and the Senate will vote on adoption of the resolution at a time to be determined by the Majority Leader, in consultation with the Democratic Leader, no earlier than Friday, May 1st.

At approximately 1:45pm, a roll call vote on the motion to discharge S.J.Res 184, A joint resolution to direct the removal of United States Armed Forces from hostilities within or against the Islamic Republic of Iran that have not been authorized by Congress from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee (Schiff) is expected.
