Not confirmed, 47-50: Confirmation of Executive Calendar #1043 Arianna J. Freeman to be United States Circuit Judge for the Third Circuit. Leader Schumer entered a motion to reconsider the failed confirmation vote.

Invoked, 51-45: Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #1033 Lara E. Montecalvo to be United States Circuit Judge for the First Circuit.

Adopted by unanimous consent: S. Res. 762, Honoring the life and accomplishments of Queen Elizabeth II and expressing condolences to her family and the United Kingdom on her passing.

The Senate will convene at 10:00am on Wednesday, September 14, 2022.

At 11:30am, the Senate will proceed to two roll call votes on the following:

  1. Confirmation of Executive Calendar #1033 Laura E. Montecalvo to be United States Circuit Judge for the First Circuit.
  2. Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #1032 Sarah A. L. Merriam to be United States Circuit Judge for the Second Circuit.

The Senate confirmed the following nominations by voice vote:

  1. Executive Calendar #921 Bruce I. Turner for the rank of Ambassador during his tenure of service as U.S. Representative to the Conference on Disarmament.
  2. Executive Calendar #1101 E. Martin Estrada to be United States Attorney for the Central District of California for the term of four years.
  3. Executive Calendar #1102, Gregory J. Haanstad to be United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
  4. Executive Calendar #1040 – Miriam L. Lafferty to be Rear Admiral – Coast Guard
  5. Executive Calendar #1042 – Rear Adm. Miriam L. Lafferty to be Rear Admiral (Upper Half).

The Senate will convene at 10:00am on Tuesday, April 28th.

At 11:00am – 2 roll call votes expected:

  1. Motion to proceed to Executive Session for the consideration of S.Res.690 En Bloc Nominations
  2. Motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to Cal. #373, S.4344 To extend section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 for 3 years.

The Senate will recess from 12:30pm until 4:00pm to allow for the weekly caucus meetings and the joint meeting.

At 3:00pm, His Majesty King Charles III will address a Joint Meeting of Congress in the Hall of the House of Representatives.  Senators will assemble in the Senate Chamber at 2:20pm. Senators, led by Senate leadership, including the Secretary of the Senate and the Deputy Sergeant at Arms, will proceed to the House Chamber at 2:25pm.

At approx. 5:00pm – 1 roll call vote expected:

  1. Motion to discharge SFRC of S.J.Res.124, A joint resolution to direct the removal of United States Armed Forces from hostilities within or against the Republic of Cuba that have not been authorized by Congress.
