Nomination confirmed, 51-45: Executive Calendar #11, Daniel J. Calabretta, of California, to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of California.

Nomination confirmed, 61-34: Executive Calendar #1, Lester Martinez-Lopez, of Florida, to be an Assistant Secretary of Defense.

Cloture invoked, 50-44: Executive Calendar #6, Maria Araujo Kahn to be United States Circuit Judge for the Second Circuit.

Leader Schumer filed cloture on the following nominations:

  1. Executive Calendar #16, Jamar K. Walker to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Virginia.
  2. Executive Calendar #17, Jamal N. Whitehead to be United States District Judge for the Western District of Washington.
  3. Executive Calendar #14, Araceli Martinez-Olguin to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of California.
  4. Executive Calendar #13, Margaret R. Guzman to be United States District Judge for the District of Massachusetts.

By voice vote, the Senate confirmed Executive Calendar #44, Jill E. Steinberg to be United States Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia for the term of four years.

The Senate will meet for pro forma sessions over the recess on the following dates and times:

Thursday February 23: 9:30am

The Senate will convene at 3:00pm on Monday, February 27th, 2023. Following the prayer and pledge, Senator Lankford will read Washington’s Farewell Address.

At 5:30pm, the Senate will proceed to a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #16 Jamar K. Walker to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Virginia.

By unanimous consent, all post-cloture time on the nomination Maria Araujo Kahn to be United States Circuit Judge for the Second Circuit be considered expired, and a vote on confirmation will occur at a time to be determined by the Majority and Minority Leaders.
