Tonight, Leader Schumer filed cloture on the Motion to Concur in the House amendment to the Senate amendment to S.2938 (legislative vehicle for guns/mental health legislation) and filled the amendment tree.

Under the regular order, the intervening day will be Wednesday, June 22, 2022.

One hour after the Senate convenes on Thursday, June 23, 2022, the Senate will vote on the Motion to Invoke Cloture on the Motion to Concur in the House amendment to the Senate amendment to S.2938 (legislative vehicle for guns/mental health legislation).

If cloture is invoked, there will be up to 30 hours of post-cloture debate, followed by a vote on the Motion to Concur.

The Senate will convene at 10:00am on Thursday, April 30th. Following Leader Remarks, the Senate will be in a period of Morning Business with Senators permitted to speak therein for up to ten minutes each.

At approximately 11:30am, the Senate is expected to vote on the motion to invoke cloture on S.Res.690, an executive resolution authorizing the en bloc consideration in Executive Session of (49) certain nominations on the Executive Calendar.  If cloture is invoked on S.Res.690, all post-cloture time will be considered expired and the Senate will vote on adoption of the resolution at a time to be determined by the Majority Leader, in consultation with the Democratic Leader, no earlier than Friday, May 1st.

At approximately 1:45pm, a roll call vote on the motion to discharge S.J.Res 184, A joint resolution to direct the removal of United States Armed Forces from hostilities within or against the Islamic Republic of Iran that have not been authorized by Congress from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee (Schiff) is expected.
