Yesterday, Leader Schumer filed cloture on the Motion to Concur in the House amendment to the Senate amendment to S.2938 (legislative vehicle for guns/mental health legislation) and filled the amendment tree.

Under the regular order, the intervening day will be today.

Agreed to, 50-48: The motion to discharge the nomination of Arianna J. Freeman to be United States Circuit Judge for the Third Circuit, from the Judiciary Committee.

Confirmed, 50-48: Mary T. Boyle to be a Commissioner of the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Leader Schumer made a motion to discharge from the Judiciary Committee the nomination of Hernan D. Vera to be United States District Judge for the Central District of California. The vote on the motion to discharge will occur at approximately 6:00pm tonight.

Agreed to, 50-47: Motion to discharge from Judiciary Committee PN1512 Hernan D. Vera to be United States District Judge for the Central District of California.

Schumer moved to discharge from Judiciary Committee PN1477 Jessica Clarke, to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of New York.

There will be up to 4 hours of debate, followed by a vote on the motion to discharge the Clarke nomination from Judiciary.

The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00am on Thursday, June 23, 2022.

Following Leader remarks the Senate will proceed to Executive Session to resume consideration of the motion to discharge the nomination of Jessica G. L. Clarke, of New York, to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of New York.

At 11:00am, the Senate will vote on the motion to discharge the Clarke nomination.

Following disposition of the motion, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the motion to concur in the House amendment to S.2938 with amendment #5099, the vehicle for Bipartisan Safer Communities Act. If cloture is invoked, there would be up to 30 hours of post cloture debate time followed by a vote on the motion to concur in the House amendment to S.2938 with amendment #5099 (passage).

The Senate will convene at 10:00am on Thursday, April 30th. Following Leader Remarks, the Senate will be in a period of Morning Business with Senators permitted to speak therein for up to ten minutes each.

At approximately 11:30am, the Senate is expected to vote on the motion to invoke cloture on S.Res.690, an executive resolution authorizing the en bloc consideration in Executive Session of (49) certain nominations on the Executive Calendar.  If cloture is invoked on S.Res.690, all post-cloture time will be considered expired and the Senate will vote on adoption of the resolution at a time to be determined by the Majority Leader, in consultation with the Democratic Leader, no earlier than Friday, May 1st.

At approximately 1:45pm, a roll call vote on the motion to discharge S.J.Res 184, A joint resolution to direct the removal of United States Armed Forces from hostilities within or against the Islamic Republic of Iran that have not been authorized by Congress from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee (Schiff) is expected.
