The Senate will convene at 10:00am on Tuesday, July 12, 2022.

At 11:30am, the Senate will proceed to two roll call votes:

  1. Confirmation of Ashish S. Vazirani to be a Deputy Under Secretary of Defense.
  2. Motion to Invoke Cloture on Steven M. Dettelbach to be Director, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

Following the cloture vote on the Dettelbach nomination, the Senate will recess until 2:15pm for the weekly party caucus lunches.

At 2:30pm, the Senate will proceed to two roll call votes:

  1. Confirmation of Steven M. Dettelbach to be Director, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (if cloture is invoked).
  2. Motion to Invoke Cloture on Michael S. Barr to be a Member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System for the unexpired term of fourteen years from February 1, 2018.

Further votes are possible during Tuesday’s session of the Senate.

Invoked, 48-46: Motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Steven M. Dettelbach to be Director, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

By a vote of 48-46, the Senate confirmed the nomination of Steven M. Dettelbach, of Ohio, to be Director, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, vice B. Todd Jones, resigned

Invoked, 66-27: Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #975 Michael S. Barr, of Michigan, to be a Member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System for the unexpired term of fourteen years from February 1, 2018, vice Randal Quarles, resigned.

The Senate stands adjourned until 10:30am on Wednesday, July 13, 2022.

Following Leader remarks, the Senate wil resume consideration of Executive Calendar #975 Michael S. Barr, of Michigan, to be a Member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System for the unexpired term of fourteen years from February 1, 2018, vice Randal Quarles, resigned. Post-cloture.

At 11:30am, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Barr nomination. 

After conclusion of this vote the Senate will then vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #976 Michael S. Barr, of Michigan, to be Vice Chairman for Supervision of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System for a term of four years, vice Randal Quarles, resigned.

If cloture is invoked on Executive Calendar #976 the Senate will then vote on its confirmation at 2:30pm.

Additionally, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #676 Owen Edward Herrnstadt, of Maryland, to be a Member of the Board of Directors of the Export-Import Bank of the United States for a term expiring January 20, 2025, vice Judith Delzoppo Pryor, term expired.

The Senate adjourned at 6:18pm.

The Senate will convene at 10:00am on Thursday, April 30th. Following Leader Remarks, the Senate will be in a period of Morning Business with Senators permitted to speak therein for up to ten minutes each.

At approximately 11:30am, the Senate is expected to vote on the motion to invoke cloture on S.Res.690, an executive resolution authorizing the en bloc consideration in Executive Session of (49) certain nominations on the Executive Calendar.  If cloture is invoked on S.Res.690, all post-cloture time will be considered expired and the Senate will vote on adoption of the resolution at a time to be determined by the Majority Leader, in consultation with the Democratic Leader, no earlier than Friday, May 1st.

At approximately 1:45pm, a roll call vote on the motion to discharge S.J.Res 184, A joint resolution to direct the removal of United States Armed Forces from hostilities within or against the Islamic Republic of Iran that have not been authorized by Congress from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee (Schiff) is expected.
