The Senate stands adjourned under the provisions of S.Res.621 until 3:00pm on Monday, May 9, 2022.  Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session to resume consideration of Executive Calendar #708 Ann Claire Phillips, of Virginia, to be Administrator of the Maritime Administration.

5:30pm the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the Phillips nomination.

Cloture was filed on the following:

  1. Executive Calendar #708 Ann Claire Phillips, of Virginia, to be Administrator of the Maritime Administration.
  2. Executive Calendar #773 Asmeret Asefaw Berhe, of California, to be Director of the Office of Science, Department of Energy.

The Senate convened and proceeded with Leader remarks.

Leader Schumer filed cloture on Executive Calendar #848, Alvaro M. Bedoya to be a Federal Trade Commissioner for the term of seven years from September 26, 2019.

Leader Schumer filed cloture on the motion to proceed to S.4132 – A bill to protect a person’s ability to determine whether to continue or end a pregnancy, and to protect a health care provider’s ability to provide abortion services.

Leader Schumer filed cloture on Executive Calendar #865, Julia Ruth Gordon to be an Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.

Invoked, 72-20: Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #708, Ann Claire Phillips to be Administrator of the Maritime Administration.

The Senate will convene at 10:00am on Tuesday, May 10. 2022.

At 11:45am, the Senate will proceed to two roll call votes:

  1. Confirmation of Executive Calendar #708, Ann Claire Phillips, of Virginia, to be Administrator of the Maritime Administration.
  2. Motion to Invoke Cloture on Executive Calendar #773, Asmeret Asefaw Berhe, of California, to be Director of the Office of Science, Department of Energy.

Following the cloture vote on the Berhe nomination, the Senate will recess until 2:15pm for the weekly party caucus lunches.

At 2:30pm, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Berhe nomination (if cloture is invoked).

The Senate adjourned at 7:03pm.
