Sustained, 51-50 with Vice President Vance voting in the affirmative: Risch point of order in relation to the motion to proceed to Cal. #298, S.J.Res.98, Kaine War Powers Resolution (Venezuela).

The Senate will convene at 10:00am on Thursday, January 15, 2026.

At approximately 11:00am, the Senate is expected to vote on the motion to invoke cloture on H.R.6938, a bill making consolidated appropriations for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2026, and for other purposes.

The Senate adjourned at 7:06pm.

When the Senate next convenes at 3:00pm on Monday, April 13th, following Leader remarks, it will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of the nomination of John Thomas Shepherd to be United States District Judge for the Western District of Arkansas.

5:30pm Monday, April 13th the Senate is expected to proceed to a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the Shepherd nomination.

Cloture was filed on the following nominations:

  1. The nomination of John Thomas Shepherd to be United States District Judge for the Western District of Arkansas.
  2. The nomination of Christopher R. Wolfe to be United States District Judge for the Western District of Texas.
